6 inch Star Gazing block

Star Gazing

Meet Star Gazing:

I designed Star Gazing in February of 2015. This pattern is one where you can put a lot of thought into and come up with some really spectacular designs!!

6 inch Star Gazing block for a mug rug - I will be the first to admit that I'm not the best at smaller piecing/joining sections. 😉

The Star Gazing pattern is an intricate design with 5 different blocks. They are all the same shape and form, but the difference is in how the different layers overlap.

Below, I colored all of the sections the same to make it easier to see how they weave throughout the block.

In the mockup below you can follow the yellow band around and see all the different ways that it weaves through the other colors.

And here is an example of Star Gazing on repeat. This can create some really fun secondary patterns too. The color pages are great for this!!

Take Space Gem to the next level...

You can play with this even further by rotating your blocks and creating a variety of other designs besides just in the blocks.

Check out these examples:

Here are some of y’alls amazing blocks and projects!!

What do you think??

The color pages, which come with all of my patterns, are especially useful for this pattern.

There are also cutting templates which help so you can get the perfect cuts on your prints to add to the overall design, as well as save on fabric.

I’d love to hear what you think!

Do you like it?!

Which project is your favorite?
