River Pond

Meet River Pond:

River Pond was originally created for Stash Builder Box and was featured in their October 2016 box!

“Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads.”
Henry David Thoreau, Walden

River Pond captures me as a mountain landscape reflected in the waters below. While a perfectly still reflection, the movement also flows like a river down the length of the quilt. A design that is modern as well as meditative. The block assembly is a variety of simple blocks turned on point, and bordered by flying geese. I hope you will enjoy the process of making this quilt as much as you enjoy the finished product!

I submitted this quilt to Quilt Con and got denied. boo. lol.

But I DID win a blue ribbon at the Quilting on the Red quilt show in Grand Forks, ND.

If you’re in the area, you definitely need to hit up that quilt show. The Northstar Quilt Guild is the best quilt guild and they put on an excellent quilt show!!

Sometime in 2019, someone emailed me about a question in the pattern, which ended up being an error, and for some reason I decided to rewrite the entire pattern. I don’t know. lol.

In the beginning of 2020 I hosted the River Pond QAL, and it was SOO much fun!! You can check it out HERE! If you make one, I hope you’ll share in the Facebook group! We’d love to see what you make!

my second, and longer, River Pond quilt. I'm still working on the hand quilting.

Let's see what you've made!

These are SOOO pretty!! I love all of the color schemes and fabrics that everyone used!!

What do you think??

Do you enjoy tradtionally piecing when make quilts, or foundation paper piecing??

(I’m sure you know my preference. lol. but I do love something quick and simple now and then!)

I’d love to hear what you think!

Do you like it?!

Which project is your favorite?

Are you buying the pattern?
